About CEID STEM Foundation
CEID STEM FOUNDATION, established in 2016, is dedicated to improving STEM education in rural communities. Our mission is to address declining enrollments, negative attitudes, and a shortage of qualified STEM teachers. We believe that transformation in STEM education requires us to reengage with our STEM teachers, parents, students, and professionals as partners to develop an interdisciplinary curriculum that improves STEM education and STEM teacher training. We aim to inspire, educate, and equip young minds with the computational skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities. By challenging conventional thinking and building excellent STEM education, we lead the way to create a lasting impact.
As part of our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education 7-year strategic plan, we aim to train at least 250,000 new primary and high school STEM teachers by 2025. This plan supports the STEM teacher workforce in adopting new teaching methods that increase and sustain youth and public engagement in STEM education. We aim to keep 50% of our youth in STEM education and prepare them for success in the modern workforce.
